We are seeking a technically skilled and customer-focused Sales Engineer to support the sales process by combining technical expertise with strong communication and business development skills. This role involves understanding customer requirements, developing technical solutions, preparing proposals, and working closely with internal teams to deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
Position Responsibilities
Technical Sales Support
- Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
- Provide technical guidance throughout the sales process.
- Explain product features, capabilities, and applications to customers.
Proposal & Estimating
- Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and sales documentation.
- Review specifications and project requirements to develop accurate solutions.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure proposals meet customer expectations.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and prospective clients.
- Respond to technical questions and provide timely support.
- Conduct presentations, product demonstrations, and customer meetings as needed.
Sales & Business Development
- Support sales strategies and identify new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with sales teams to develop opportunities and achieve business objectives.
- Monitor customer needs, market trends, and competitive activity.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with engineering, operations, production, and other departments to develop effective solutions.
- Assist with resolving technical or project-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records of customer requirements, proposals, and opportunities.
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field preferred.
- Experience in technical sales, sales engineering, engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of technical products, systems, or industrial applications.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, presentation, and communication skills.
- Customer-focused approach with strong relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant sales or technical software.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Certified Sales Professional (CSP)
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Lean Six Sigma certification
- Industry-specific technical or engineering certifications
