We are seeking an OCS Bonding Design Lead to oversee the planning, design, coordination, and implementation of bonding and grounding systems for complex infrastructure and transportation projects. This role will provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring designs meet safety standards, regulatory requirements, and operational performance objectives.
The ideal candidate will possess strong engineering expertise, leadership capabilities, and experience managing multidisciplinary teams while delivering high-quality design solutions in a fast-paced project environment.
Position Responsibilities
Design Leadership
- Lead the development and review of bonding and grounding system designs for large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Ensure design accuracy, quality, and compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering and design teams.
- Review calculations, drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
Project Planning & Coordination
- Coordinate project activities with internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Support project scheduling, resource planning, and technical deliverables.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential risks or design challenges.
- Assist with project budgeting and cost control efforts.
Technical Analysis & Engineering
- Perform engineering analyses related to electrical bonding, grounding, and system integration.
- Evaluate design alternatives and recommend optimal technical solutions.
- Support system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
- Ensure designs align with operational, safety, and performance requirements.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications.
- Participate in design reviews, audits, and quality assurance processes.
- Develop and maintain engineering procedures, standards, and best practices.
- Support risk assessments and mitigation planning.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Serve as a technical liaison between project teams, clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Present technical findings, design recommendations, and project updates.
- Support proposal development and technical documentation efforts.
- Foster strong working relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience in bonding, grounding, electrical systems design, or infrastructure engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of engineering design principles, codes, and industry standards.
- Experience leading technical teams and coordinating complex engineering projects.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency with engineering design software and technical documentation tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and project deadlines effectively.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Certified Engineering Technologist (CET)
- Relevant electrical design or rail/transit industry certifications
