We are seeking an experienced Director of Costing to lead global product costing and sourcing strategies, drive cost reduction initiatives, strengthen supplier performance, and support the organization’s financial objectives. This role will oversee costing and sourcing activities, supplier relationships, contract negotiations, cost modeling, and team development while partnering with cross-functional teams to improve cost, quality, and delivery performance.

Position Responsibilities

Costing Strategy & Management

Lead product costing activities to ensure financial goals and objectives are achieved.
Develop total system cost models and “should cost” estimates.
Maintain material cost libraries and track core commodity costs.
Identify and implement cost-control and continuous improvement initiatives.

Global Sourcing Strategy

Develop and execute global sourcing strategies focused on cost, quality, and delivery.
Identify opportunities to achieve targeted cost savings and improve sourcing performance.
Conduct industry analysis and provide insights to support sourcing decisions.

Supplier & Contract Management

Evaluate, select, and implement preferred suppliers.
Negotiate pricing, capacity, terms, and conditions with global suppliers.
Build strong supplier partnerships and ensure vendors meet established requirements and obligations.
Support supplier development and performance improvement initiatives.

Budget & Financial Management

Manage costing and sourcing budgets and the annual budget-setting process.
Develop strategies aligned with company financial expectations and cost-reduction objectives.
Monitor sourcing and costing performance against established targets.

Team Leadership & Development

Mentor, train, and develop sourcing and costing staff.
Provide direction across sourcing and costing activities to ensure effective execution.
Foster collaboration across cross-functional teams and multiple projects.

Prerequisites

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
15+ years of costing and procurement experience, preferably within the consumer products industry.
10+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
Demonstrated strategic thinking and strong business judgment.
Experience with global sourcing and supplier management preferred.
Strong project management skills, including developing scopes, budgets, schedules, and risk assessments.
Experience managing multiple projects with cross-functional teams.
Strong negotiation, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Willingness to travel internationally 20% or more.

Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)

Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM).
Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
Project Management Professional (PMP).
Lean Six Sigma certification.
Relevant procurement, sourcing, costing, or supply chain certifications.
