We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Strategic Sourcing Specialist to develop and execute sourcing strategies that optimize cost, quality, and supplier performance. The ideal candidate will collaborate with internal stakeholders, evaluate supplier capabilities, negotiate contracts, and build strong supplier relationships to support organizational goals and ensure a reliable supply chain.
Position Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned categories and materials.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality and service standards.
- Conduct market research to evaluate industry trends and supplier capabilities.
Supplier Management
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and address quality, delivery, or service issues.
Contract Negotiation
- Lead supplier negotiations related to pricing, terms, and contractual agreements.
- Ensure contracts align with organizational objectives and procurement policies.
- Support contract renewals and supplier performance reviews.
Procurement & Cost Analysis
- Analyze spending patterns and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast purchasing needs.
- Monitor procurement metrics and recommend process improvements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with operations, engineering, manufacturing, finance, and quality teams to support business objectives.
- Provide sourcing expertise during new product development and operational initiatives.
- Assist in resolving supply chain challenges and minimizing procurement risks.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain accurate supplier records and sourcing documentation.
- Prepare reports on sourcing activities, supplier performance, and cost savings.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency.
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Procurement, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of supplier management, contract administration, and procurement best practices.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP or procurement systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Certifications (Preferred, but Not Required)
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM).
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
- Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP).
- APICS or ISM certifications.
- Lean Six Sigma certification.
