We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented General Manager to oversee the overall performance, strategy, and daily operations of a manufacturing and processing facility. This leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring safety and compliance, managing financial performance, and developing high-performing teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong business acumen, a hands-on leadership style, and a proven ability to improve productivity, profitability, and operational efficiency.
Position Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead all aspects of facility operations, including production, processing, maintenance, logistics, and inventory management.
- Establish operational goals and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Drive efficiency, quality, and productivity across all departments.
- Ensure effective coordination of resources, personnel, and equipment.
Financial Management
- Maintain full accountability for facility financial performance and profitability.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and operational plans.
- Analyze financial reports and operational metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Implement cost-control initiatives while supporting sustainable growth.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and maintain a strong culture of workplace safety.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety reviews, audits, and corrective action initiatives.
- Lead efforts to minimize incidents and improve overall workplace safety performance.
Team Leadership & Development
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing management and operations team.
- Foster employee engagement, accountability, and professional development.
- Support workforce planning, hiring, training, and succession planning initiatives.
- Create a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement.
Manufacturing & Maintenance Management
- Oversee production schedules and operational performance.
- Ensure preventative and corrective maintenance programs are effectively implemented.
- Support equipment reliability, asset utilization, and operational uptime.
- Drive process improvements that enhance quality and productivity.
Inventory & Logistics Oversight
- Manage raw material, work-in-process, and finished goods inventory.
- Oversee shipping, receiving, and logistics activities.
- Ensure inventory accuracy and efficient material flow throughout operations.
- Optimize supply chain and distribution processes to support business goals.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead operational excellence and process improvement initiatives.
- Utilize data-driven decision-making to improve performance metrics.
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and improve profitability.
- Support implementation of best practices across the organization.
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience within manufacturing, industrial, processing, or operations environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing facility financial performance and P&L responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of production operations, maintenance management, and inventory control.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage change, and drive operational improvements.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency with business systems, reporting tools, and operational metrics.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Lean Manufacturing Certification
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
- Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- OSHA Safety Certification
