Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead and support manufacturing process improvements, production efficiency, equipment optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop effective manufacturing solutions, improve quality and productivity, and ensure processes consistently meet operational and business requirements.

Position Responsibilities
Manufacturing Process Engineering
- Develop, improve, and optimize manufacturing processes to increase productivity, efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness.
- Evaluate existing production methods and identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve throughput, and enhance operational performance.
- Develop and implement process improvements, work instructions, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing methods.
- Support production teams in troubleshooting manufacturing and process-related issues.
- Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective and preventive actions for recurring manufacturing issues.
- Identify opportunities to reduce cycle time, scrap, downtime, and manufacturing costs.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of improvement initiatives.
Equipment and Production Support
- Support the design, selection, installation, modification, and optimization of manufacturing equipment and systems.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to improve equipment reliability and production performance.
- Assist with equipment troubleshooting, process validation, and production start-ups.
- Provide technical support for new equipment, manufacturing technologies, and process changes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and other departments to resolve manufacturing challenges.
- Support new product introductions and transitions from development into production.
- Coordinate engineering projects and ensure deliverables are completed within established timelines and requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and communicate recommendations to leadership and production teams.
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Progressive experience in manufacturing engineering or a similar engineering role within a production environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production systems, equipment, and process optimization.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to translate data into practical solutions.
- Experience working collaboratively with production, quality, maintenance, and other cross-functional teams.
- Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering or manufacturing-related software and systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Lean Six Sigma certification.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE) or similar professional certification.
- Project management certification such as PMP.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
