We are seeking an experienced procurement leader to oversee Corporate Services Procurement across North America through a player-coach leadership model. This role combines strategic category management, complex sourcing, supplier management, and team leadership across a broad range of corporate service categories. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and trusted business partner who can drive measurable value while developing a high-performing procurement organization.
Position Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement & Category Management
- Develop and execute strategic procurement and category strategies that deliver cost savings, risk mitigation, supplier performance improvements, and measurable business value.
- Lead category management across Finance, Legal, IT, HR, Marketing, Professional Services, and other corporate services.
- Establish procurement priorities, governance standards, and performance metrics across the Corporate Services portfolio.
- Identify opportunities to improve spend management, supplier performance, and overall procurement effectiveness.
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Lead complex sourcing initiatives, contract negotiations, and supplier selection processes.
- Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships while monitoring performance and managing risks.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure sourcing strategies align with business requirements and organizational objectives.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, coach, and develop Category Managers and Purchasing Specialists.
- Recruit and retain procurement talent while fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
- Provide hands-on category leadership while developing the capabilities of the broader procurement organization.
Procurement Transformation
- Drive process improvements and procurement transformation initiatives.
- Support digital procurement adoption and leverage analytics and AI-enabled productivity solutions.
- Establish and monitor performance metrics to measure procurement effectiveness and business impact.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner with senior business leaders to align procurement strategies with organizational priorities.
- Serve as a trusted procurement advisor to stakeholders across the organization.
- Influence decisions within a matrixed environment while balancing competing priorities.
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, IT, or a related field.
- 10+ years of indirect procurement experience, including corporate services categories.
- Proven experience leading strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, supplier management, and cross-functional procurement initiatives.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and developing procurement talent.
- Experience influencing stakeholders within a matrixed organization.
- Proficiency with procurement systems and analytics tools.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity solutions.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- MBA or other advanced degree.
- 5+ years of people leadership experience in Procurement, Category Management, Supply Chain, or a related function.
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPIM, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma.
- Experience working with global procurement teams.
- Experience leading procurement transformation or digital adoption initiatives.
