We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to lead quality operations within a chemical manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a strong people leader with a chemical engineering background who can oversee quality professionals, strengthen laboratory processes, and ensure consistent product quality and compliance.
Position Responsibilities
Quality Leadership
- Lead and develop a team of approximately six quality professionals.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance guidance to quality and laboratory personnel.
- Establish clear priorities and maintain high standards across quality operations.
Quality Management
- Oversee quality control activities within a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Ensure products, raw materials, and processes meet established quality standards and specifications.
- Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across quality and manufacturing operations.
Team & Process Improvement
- Promote a strong culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and other departments to resolve quality issues.
- Develop and improve quality processes, procedures, and documentation.
- Use analytical thinking to identify root causes and drive effective solutions.
Systems & Compliance
- Utilize SAP to manage quality-related processes and information.
- Support the use of advanced ERP systems, including SAP S/4HANA.
- Maintain compliance with applicable quality standards, procedures, and internal requirements.
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in quality control or quality management.
- Experience within a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Background in coatings, raw materials, or related chemical products is strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership experience with the ability to coach and develop quality and laboratory teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Hands-on SAP experience is required.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Quality management or process improvement certifications are preferred.
- Additional professional certifications related to chemical manufacturing or quality systems are a plus.
