We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to lead quality operations within a chemical manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a strong people leader with a chemical engineering background who can oversee quality professionals, strengthen laboratory processes, and ensure consistent product quality and compliance.

Position Responsibilities

Quality Leadership

Lead and develop a team of approximately six quality professionals.
Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance guidance to quality and laboratory personnel.
Establish clear priorities and maintain high standards across quality operations.

Quality Management

Oversee quality control activities within a chemical manufacturing environment.
Ensure products, raw materials, and processes meet established quality standards and specifications.
Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across quality and manufacturing operations.

Team & Process Improvement

Promote a strong culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and other departments to resolve quality issues.
Develop and improve quality processes, procedures, and documentation.
Use analytical thinking to identify root causes and drive effective solutions.

Systems & Compliance

Utilize SAP to manage quality-related processes and information.
Support the use of advanced ERP systems, including SAP S/4HANA.
Maintain compliance with applicable quality standards, procedures, and internal requirements.

Prerequisites

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
7+ years of progressive experience in quality control or quality management.
Experience within a chemical manufacturing environment.
Background in coatings, raw materials, or related chemical products is strongly preferred.
Strong leadership experience with the ability to coach and develop quality and laboratory teams.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Hands-on SAP experience is required.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)

Quality management or process improvement certifications are preferred.
Additional professional certifications related to chemical manufacturing or quality systems are a plus.

What the Role Offers

Competitive base salary of $85,000–$115,000.
