We are seeking a Process Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes, improve production efficiency, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This role will apply engineering principles, data analysis, process control methods, and problem-solving techniques to develop reliable, cost-effective manufacturing solutions while maintaining quality and regulatory standards.
Position Responsibilities
Manufacturing Process Improvement
- Design, implement, and review manufacturing procedures, processes, and equipment.
- Analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and manufacturing data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Optimize processes to improve efficiency, reduce variation, and increase production capability.
- Analyze workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Develop and implement production and processing methods, controls, and World Class Manufacturing initiatives.
- Complete material and energy balances and develop alternative process solutions.
Quality and Process Control
- Evaluate quality control processes and recommend improvements.
- Apply engineering fundamentals and statistical process control tools to ensure processes are centered, capable, and in control.
- Identify and resolve special causes of process variation.
- Ensure manufacturing processes comply with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
Automation and Equipment
- Research and evaluate automation techniques and new manufacturing systems.
- Participate in trials to evaluate equipment, processes, and raw material opportunities.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair activities to maintain reliable production operations.
- Review manufacturer procedures and instructions to ensure proper equipment operation.
Cost and Production Analysis
- Review labor, material, energy, and other production costs to identify cost-reduction opportunities.
- Analyze future production requirements and provide management with reports, data, and statistics to support decision-making.
- Evaluate alternatives and implement selected projects focused on cost and efficiency improvements.
Continuous Improvement
- Use Focus Improvement and Kaizen methodologies to drive process improvements.
- Apply World Class Manufacturing tools and practices.
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects and process optimization initiatives.
- Support project engineering activities and manufacturing improvement programs.
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- At least 3 years of professional process engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, process optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with computer systems, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to optimize processes, improve efficiency, and identify root causes of manufacturing issues.
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to work effectively with teams at multiple organizational levels.
- Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Project management certification or relevant project management training.
- World Class Manufacturing, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen training/certification.
- Process control or statistical analysis certification.
