We are seeking a Licensed General Contractor to serve as a key operational leader responsible for establishing construction capabilities, overseeing project execution, managing bidding activities, and supporting the growth of an expanding organization. This is an early-stage leadership opportunity for an experienced contractor who can help build operational infrastructure while taking an active role in business development and project delivery.
Position Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
- Serve as a senior operational leader overseeing construction activities and project execution.
- Establish and develop construction operations, processes, and standards.
- Help build the operational infrastructure needed to support rapid company growth.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors, clients, and other industry partners.
- Support workforce planning and the development of the construction team as the organization expands.
Licensing & Qualification
- Hold and maintain an active Certified General Contractor (CGC) license.
- Lead efforts to obtain and maintain the required company certifications and qualifications to perform construction work.
- Ensure construction operations comply with applicable building codes, licensing requirements, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Establish appropriate procedures for regulatory compliance and project documentation.
Estimating & Bidding
- Lead or oversee project estimating and bidding activities.
- Review project requirements, specifications, drawings, and scopes of work.
- Develop competitive and accurate bids while evaluating project risks and profitability.
- Establish estimating processes and standards as the construction operation grows.
- Support negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Project Management
- Oversee construction projects from pre-construction through completion.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, quality, and overall performance.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve project issues while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to contractual requirements.
Business & Organizational Growth
- Help establish the construction division and develop scalable operational processes.
- Contribute to strategic decisions regarding markets, services, staffing, and growth opportunities.
- Work closely with company leadership to develop long-term operational and business strategies.
- Participate in building a high-performing construction organization as the company expands.
Prerequisites
- Active Certified General Contractor (CGC) license required.
- Significant experience in general contracting, construction operations, or project management.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, estimating, bidding, and project execution.
- Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, and construction teams.
- Strong understanding of Florida construction requirements and regulatory standards.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders.
- Strong business judgment and financial awareness.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to take an active role in building a growing organization.
- Ability and willingness to commute to the office regularly once established.

Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Additional Florida construction-related licenses or certifications.
- OSHA safety certifications.
- Project management certification such as PMP.
