We are seeking an accomplished Senior Director of Quality to lead and advance a world-class quality organization within a highly regulated manufacturing environment. This executive leadership role is responsible for establishing and executing quality strategies that drive operational excellence, regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands-on leader with extensive experience developing high-performing quality teams, implementing robust quality management systems, and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
Position Responsibilities
Quality Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute the organization’s quality vision, objectives, and long-term strategy.
- Lead and mentor quality leaders and cross-functional teams to achieve business and operational goals.
- Serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, contributing to strategic decision-making and organizational success.
- Drive a culture focused on quality, accountability, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
Quality Management Systems
- Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of quality management systems.
- Ensure alignment of quality policies, procedures, and standards across operations and supply chain functions.
- Establish quality performance metrics and monitor effectiveness across the organization.
- Drive standardization and process maturity initiatives to improve operational consistency.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry regulations, government standards, and applicable quality frameworks.
- Lead internal and external audit readiness efforts and support regulatory inspections.
- Maintain effective quality assurance and quality control programs across all operational areas.
- Monitor evolving regulatory requirements and implement necessary compliance initiatives.
Continuous Improvement
- Champion Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Lead initiatives focused on reducing defects, non-conformances, scrap, rework, and process variation.
- Utilize data analytics and performance metrics to identify opportunities for operational improvement.
- Promote proactive problem-solving and root cause analysis throughout the organization.
Supplier Quality Management
- Establish supplier quality strategies and performance expectations.
- Implement supplier performance measurement programs, audits, scorecards, and corrective action processes.
- Collaborate with suppliers to improve quality performance and mitigate risks.
- Support supplier qualification and ongoing supplier development initiatives.
Customer Quality & Satisfaction
- Monitor customer quality performance and feedback.
- Lead corrective and preventive action processes to address customer concerns.
- Ensure quality standards consistently meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and customers.
Team Development & Organizational Excellence
- Develop and retain a high-performing quality organization.
- Create leadership development and succession planning strategies.
- Foster collaboration across operations, engineering, supply chain, and business functions.
- Drive engagement and alignment across multi-site and multi-shift operations.
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive quality leadership experience within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years of experience leading large quality organizations at a senior management or executive level.
- Extensive experience developing and implementing quality management systems.
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance, quality control, compliance, auditing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale process improvement initiatives.
- Experience managing customer quality, supplier quality, and operational quality functions.
- Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances, where applicable.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt
- Lean Manufacturing Certification
- ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CMQ/OE)
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- Lead Auditor Certification
- ISO Quality Management Systems Certifications
- MBA, Master’s Degree, or Advanced Technical Degree
