We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Plant Manager to lead a manufacturing operation focused on safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant performance, including operations, workforce development, financial management, customer satisfaction, and strategic execution. The ideal candidate will possess strong operational leadership experience, a proven ability to drive performance improvements, and a passion for building high-performing teams.
Position Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Direct all day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable performance.
- Establish operational goals and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Monitor production metrics and implement strategies to improve overall plant performance.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Champion a culture of safety and accountability throughout the facility.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts to minimize workplace incidents.
Quality Management
- Drive quality initiatives to ensure products consistently meet customer and regulatory standards.
- Partner with quality teams to address root causes, corrective actions, and process improvements.
- Promote a culture focused on quality excellence and customer satisfaction.
Financial & Business Performance
- Manage plant budgets, forecasts, and operational expenditures.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining operational effectiveness and product quality.
- Monitor key performance indicators and deliver results aligned with business objectives.
Team Development & Leadership
- Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain high-performing leadership and operational teams.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and employee engagement.
- Support succession planning and workforce development initiatives.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and asset utilization.
- Drive sustainable process improvements across all functional areas.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with engineering, supply chain, maintenance, quality, finance, and human resources teams.
- Support strategic planning, capital projects, and growth initiatives.
- Ensure alignment between plant operations and broader organizational goals.
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success managing complex manufacturing operations.
- Strong knowledge of production processes, quality systems, and operational best practices.
- Experience managing budgets, financial performance, and operational KPIs.
- Proven leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to lead organizational change and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong problem-solving and strategic planning skills.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Certified Manufacturing Manager (CMM)
- OSHA Safety Certification
- APICS CPIM or CSCP Certification
