We are seeking an experienced logistics leader to oversee global transportation strategy, logistics execution, compliance, and operational performance across a complex supply chain network. This role will drive end-to-end logistics operations, manage domestic and international freight activity, support distribution and warehousing functions, and partner cross-functionally to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and reliable product movement. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, deep transportation expertise, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Position Responsibilities
Global Transportation Management
- Lead domestic and international transportation operations across truckload, LTL, rail, ocean freight, air freight, cargo, and intermodal channels
- Develop transportation strategies that improve service levels, optimize freight costs, and support business growth
- Manage relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, ports, and logistics providers
- Monitor market conditions, transportation trends, and capacity constraints to proactively mitigate supply chain risks
Logistics Planning & Network Optimization
- Oversee logistics planning, deployment activities, and inventory flow across distribution networks
- Coordinate with supply chain, manufacturing, customer service, and sales teams to align logistics execution with business demands
- Support seasonal volume changes, customer requirements, and operational priorities through strategic planning
- Evaluate warehousing capacity, transportation routes, and network efficiency opportunities
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, import/export requirements, customs documentation, and internal operational policies
- Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve claims, audits, compliance issues, and operational disruptions
- Develop processes and controls that reduce logistics-related risks and improve operational reliability
Third-Party Logistics & Vendor Oversight
- Manage third-party warehousing and logistics provider performance, contracts, and operational expectations
- Conduct regular business reviews with logistics partners to monitor KPIs and drive accountability
- Ensure external partners meet requirements related to service, inventory accuracy, safety, and operational efficiency
Analytics & Continuous Improvement
- Establish logistics KPIs, dashboards, and reporting tools to monitor operational performance
- Analyze transportation costs, service metrics, carrier performance, and deployment efficiency
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, network optimization, and cost savings initiatives
- Utilize data-driven insights to improve forecasting accuracy and strengthen decision-making
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead and mentor logistics personnel while fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration
- Serve as a key logistics resource for strategic initiatives and operational escalations
- Build strong partnerships across operations, finance, procurement, manufacturing, and customer-facing teams
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive logistics, transportation, or supply chain leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of domestic and international shipping operations
- Experience managing complex transportation networks and third-party logistics providers
- Understanding of freight forwarding, customs processes, transportation compliance, and logistics regulations
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with ERP, TMS, WMS, or logistics analytics platforms
- Proven leadership experience with strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- APICS / ASCM Certification (CPIM or CSCP)
- CSCMP Certification
- Lean Six Sigma Certification
- Trade Compliance or Transportation Certification
