We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Plant Manager to oversee all operations within a manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient and safe plant operations, including production planning, quality control, and staff management. The ideal candidate will have a background in metal fabrication and manufacturing, with experience managing high-performance teams and implementing operational efficiencies.
Position Responsibilities
Plant Operations Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing plant, ensuring production goals are met on time and within budget
- Manage plant staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
Production Efficiency & Process Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality
- Implement lean manufacturing practices to optimize plant operations
- Manage production scheduling and inventory control to meet demand
Equipment & Maintenance Management
- Ensure that all equipment is maintained and operating efficiently, minimizing downtime
- Coordinate regular maintenance schedules and resolve any mechanical issues promptly
Quality Control & Compliance
- Ensure that all products meet the required quality standards through rigorous inspection and testing
- Oversee the implementation of quality control processes and procedures
- Maintain compliance with all industry standards and regulations
ERP and Scheduling Systems
- Utilize ERP systems and production scheduling tools to manage inventory, track orders, and monitor production flow
- Analyze data and production reports to make informed decisions about scheduling, resources, and staffing
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related field (preferred)
- 7+ years of experience in a plant management or similar manufacturing leadership role
- Experience in steel enclosure fabrication, metal manufacturing, or a related field
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team
- Proficiency in using ERP systems and production scheduling tools
Certifications (Preferred, but Not Required)
- Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing Certification
- PMP (Project Management Professional)
- OSHA Safety Certification
