We are seeking an experienced Electrical Assembly Technician to join our client’s team and support the build, wiring, and commissioning of advanced mobile manufacturing equipment. This role plays a critical part in assembling and testing modular automation systems, with responsibilities ranging from panel wiring to field troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Position Responsibilities
Electrical Panel Fabrication & Assembly
- Build low-voltage control panel boxes by installing relays, circuit breakers, HMIs, plugs, switches, solenoids, wire ways, DIN rails, terminal strips, and more
- Follow electrical schematics and documentation to complete accurate and high-quality builds
- Layout and create physical control box features by drilling, tapping, and punching panels as needed
Wiring & Installation
- Perform point-to-point wiring for PLCs, relays, motor starters, and VFDs
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings with precision
- Conduct functionality and continuity tests to verify correct assembly
Testing, Support & Maintenance
- Troubleshoot and correct electrical system issues during build or commissioning
- Assist with installation and upgrades of electrical assemblies on deployed systems
- Execute preventative maintenance and support diagnostics remotely or on-site
- Promptly communicate material shortages or drawing discrepancies
General
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Prerequisites
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school certificate in electrical disciplines highly preferred
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience assembling and wiring electrical control panels
- Strong understanding of electricity, circuits (480V, 120V, and 24V), and electro-mechanical components
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 / NEC electrical standards
- Ability to read and follow detailed electrical drawings and documentation
- Working knowledge of pneumatic and electrical assemblies
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time and work independently
- Valid driver’s license required
- Experience with LOTO procedures
Certifications (Preferred, Not Required)
- Forklift operation
- Sky jack or lift platform certification
Electrical safety or related industry credentials
