Detroit Terminal Manager Overview:
The Terminal Manager is responsible for directing daily operations including; maintenance, driver scheduling, and warehousing. The Terminal Manager’s ultimate responsibility is to ensure their job requirements and client requirements are being fulfilled for the Western Michigan area. The Terminal managers key responsibilities include sufficient staffing and hiring, and ensuring that both new and current staff are well trained. Other responsibilities include the maintenance of transportation, inventory, facility and equipment, implementation and management of EHS and housekeeping programs. This position includes managing and administrating operational policies and procedures that support company objectives to the highest possible quality and accuracy. The terminal manager will also be charged with customer satisfaction, while maintaining the company’s goals for profitability, efficiency, and safety.
Detroit Terminal Manager Job Opening:
- Ensure full and appropriate utilization of company equipment to ensure company goals are met.
- Ensure freight is brokered to approved carriers.
- Set goals and work with the lead dispatcher to address any team issues and concerns.
- Ensure schedules, vendors, systems, and customer relations are meeting operating standards.
- Oversee physical tagged inventory at the end of each quarter.
- Schedule and approve any time off requests.
- Set goals and address any team issues and concerns.
- Ensure building and grounds are being properly maintained.
- Schedule maintenance, including by not limited to docks, doors and the generator.
- Work with vendors to ensure work is being completed satisfactorily and on time, including lawn care and snow removal.
Terminal Manager (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree is required BA/BS
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree is preferred.
- APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional Certification.
- Experience using enterprise resource planning systems.
- Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) experience.
- At least 3 years of SCM experience.
