Detroit Supply Chain Engineer Overview:

The Detroit Supply Chain Engineer will evaluate supply chain operations and create solutions for problems or develop improvements for inefficiencies. The Supply Chain Engineer will regularly evaluate the supply chain in order to identify areas for improvement. The Supply Chain Engineer will maintain a current knowledge of new continuous improvement tools and methods to increase the efficiency of the supply chain.

Detroit Supply Chain Engineer Job Opening

The Detroit Supply Chain Engineer will utilize and analyze data to make decisions about alterations to the supply chain.
Analyze maps and documents to further understand how the supply chain functions, identify areas for improvement.
Make suggestions and create plans to deploy supply chain improvements.
The Detroit Supply Chain Engineer will utilize internal methodologies and strategies to improve transportation and distribution operations, considering the aspects of staffing, equipment, sizing, and layout.
Develop improved supply chain designs and solutions to assist business development.
Research and establish the proper distribution of resources based on labor force, layouts, available equipment, and available drivers.
The Detroit Supply Chain Engineer will work on assigned projects to provide supply chain subject matter expertise.
Consistently re-evaluate processes and programs to ensure systems are improving.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of new supply chain strategies and procedures.
The Detroit Supply Chain Engineer will work closely with other Supply Chain Engineers to evaluate each others’ work.

Supply Chain Engineer (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:

A four year degree in business, engineering, or supply chain from an accredited institution or at least eight years of professional experience.
At least three years of experience as a supply chain engineer.
A Masters of Business Administration or a Masters in Industrial Engineering would be preferred.
A high level of familiarity with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and warehouse management software.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Lean Six Sigma training and certification would be preferred.
