New York City Supply Chain Associate Overview:

The Supply Chain Associate will primarily be using maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) buying methods in order to keep a constant stream of school supplies and indirect materials to the company’s different sites. The Supply Chain Associate will need to forecast various supply needs and make sure that all of the indirect materials are in the right place at the right time and that inventory levels don’t run dry at the New York City sites.

• The Supply Chain Associate is primarily responsible for the procurement, purchasing, and fulfillment of MRO materials for the company’s sites throughout the city.
• This role will need to maintain inventory levels of indirect material at several different locations.
• The position will need to create forecast models of stock levels and supplies in order to predict when certain locations will need more supplies.
• The Supply Chain Associate will also be in charge of the invoices of the MRO materials.
• The role will need to find vendors who will help cut the indirect spending of the organization.
• The position will need to negotiate services contracts and manage the relationships with all vendors that the organization contacts and works with.
• The Supply Chain Associate will need to continuously improve his or her sourcing methods for MRO materials within the organization.
• The role will need to assist with sourcing and spending initiatives as they come and stay current with various inventory levels of the company.
• The position will fulfill other jobs as assigned.

Supply Chain Associate (New York City) Job Requirements: 

• A 4-year Bachelor’s Degree is strongly required for this job (business or supply chain fields preferred).
• At least two years of job experience in a supply chain, buying, or sourcing function.
• MRO experience is strongly preferred for this job.
• A passion for education.
• Great attention to detail and a desire to continuously improve.
