Chicago Sourcing Manager Overview:
For this job, the Sourcing Manager, while based out of Chicago, Illinois, will be responsible for building a sourcing strategy that affects manufacturing plants for the company all over the United States. The Sourcing Manager will need to occasionally travel out to the various sites to ascertain what each site needs. The role will also manage a team of Buyers at the greater Chicago, Illinois location, and will be in charge of conducting performance evaluations, setting performance metrics, hiring, training, and firing, to optimize sourcing processes. The Sourcing Manager will report to the Director of Purchasing for this job and will be a part of the Purchasing department at the greater Chicago, Illinois location.

- The Sourcing Manager must establish and build partnerships with domestic and international vendors in order to cut costs and improve delivery quality and efficiency for company supplies.
- The Sourcing Manager must also conduct SWOT analyses of various vendors to determine the best organizational fits.
- The role must negotiate prices for both low-volume and high-volume sourcing activities in order to cut expenses for the organization.
- There is a moderate amount of travel required for this job.
Sourcing Manager (Chicago Area) Job Requirements:
- A 4-year degree from an accredited university in a business-related field is required for this job.
- This role requires at least 5 years of experience in procurement.
- Experience managing and building teams is essential for this role.
