Houston Senior Chemist Overview:
The Houston Senior Chemist will develop and improve new polymers to be utilized for products. The Houston Senior Chemist will formulate and synthesize polymers in order to meet a product’s functional requirements. The Senior Chemist will investigate material and structural failures and seek ways to improve polymers. The Senior Chemist will serve as a subject matter expert on the subject of polymers and chemistry.
Houston Senior Chemist Job Opening
- The Houston Senior Chemist will serve as a leader in the research and development division of an assigned product line.
- Will develop and improve ideas in order to develop new products or procedures to support the company’s business.
- Investigate the causes of product failures or errors, develop countermeasures and solutions to solve issues.
- The Houston Senior Chemist will work with product development team members to investigate product issues.
- Work with less senior team members as a mentor and provide direction during the development process.
- Improve product formulations to maximize customer satisfaction.
- The Houston Senior Chemist will work with customer service for certain technical issues.
- Provide customers with trial products and evaluate their experience.
- Research, select, assemble, and maintain equipment utilized in the lad.
- Keep records of tests and activities performed.
Senior Chemist (Houston Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree in chemistry from an accredited institution.
- At least four years of adhesive manufacturing experience.
- At least three days of experience in a research and development position.
- Strong experience formulating and synthesizing acrylic polymers.
- Familiar with raw materials used for adhesive manufacturing.
- Familiar with the Microsoft office suite of programs, such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook.
- Understanding of proper hazardous chemicals use, handling, and storage procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to effectively work with personnel at every level of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to perform research into new technologies and new areas.
- Excellent organizational skills and habits.
- Familiar with lab safety procedures and standards.
