Flint Quality Manager Overview:

The Quality Manager will work to ensure that each and every product manufactured meets the standards and requirements of the plan. The Flint, Michigan Quality Manager shall establish and improve procedures and processes to identify and track defects. More importantly for this job, the Flint Quality Manager will partner with engineering and production staff to rectify all production issues as they arise.

Flint Quality Manager Job Opening

• The Flint, Michigan Quality Manager will develop and implement a production part approval process for each product offered and have the customer approve that process.
• Foster a culture of quality by leading the integration and execution of a consistently improving quality system to ensure customer satisfaction and minimize defects.
• The Quality Manager will develop and improve the company’s Process Failure Effect Mode Analysis for new product lines in addition to current products.
• Lead the development and modernization of the quality books on the manufacturing floor in Flint, Michigan.
• The Quality Manager will maintain all documents and records related to product quality.
• Work with customers outside of Flint to identify and understand defects.
• The Quality Manager will foster a relationship with customers in order to identify potential quality issues before they arise.
• Create and communicate quality processes and procedures for various jobs.
• The Quality Manager will ensure that the Flint, Michigan production staff follows quality processes and procedures.
• Work with production staff and quality staff members when defects occur and ensure they are not repeated through coaching and corrective actions.
• The Quality Manager will constantly examine and evaluate quality processes in order to improve them.
• Remain mindful all customer concerns and create strategies to mitigate them.
• The Quality Manager will create and modify the policies and procedures of the plan to ensure efficiency and quality are constantly improving.

Quality Manager (Flint Area) Job Requirements:

• At least five years job experience working in a manufacturing environment in the automotive industry.
• Previous job history using lean manufacturing principles to improve a manufacturing process.
• A four year degree in engineering, packaging, related field or an equivalent level of job experience.
• Proven history working in quality improvement and a thorough familiarity with APQP, process flow diagraming, control planning, and PFEMA.
• Previous job experience working with plastic injection molding equipment and assembly.
• Familiarity with machine set up in order to improve operator performance.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Previous job experience with direct reports is favorable for this job.
• Trained in Lean Six Sigma manufacturing principles is very favorable for this job.
