Detroit Production & Logistics Director Overview:
The Detroit Production & Logistics Director will handle the entire production and delivery process. The Production & Logistics Director will observe the process from the point materials are supplied, through fabrication and production, and ending in the point of sale. It will be the task of the Detroit Production & Logistics Director to improve the process in order to improve the efficiency and delivery of the product while remaining cost effective and within quality standards.
Detroit Production & Logistics Director Job Opening:
- The Detroit Production & Logistics Director will Develop and carry out plans for material flow systems in order to meet the demands of production.
- Oversee, coach, and direct the daily activities of the Production and Logistics team.
- Utilize data on customer orders to create production schedules in order to met current demand.
- The Detroit Production & Logistics Director shall ensure that raw materials and packaging are on hand on site to meet production needs.
- Develop schedules and ensure they are being followed in order to be delivered on time and without extra costs.
- Study the production schedules and identify areas for improvement in order to improve run time.
Production & Logistics Director (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- At least five to seven years of progressive roles in the field of supply chain.
- Several years working in a production facility for automotive manufacturing.
- A masters degree in the field of business or supply chain from an accredited institution would be preferred.
- Possession of a four year degree is a minimum qualification.
- Familiarity with the Microsof office suite of products as well as general computer skills. Familiarity with QAD is a plus.
- Experience working in an international company.
- Strong leadership experience, familiarity working in a role with direct and indirect reports.
- Proven history of planning and implementing process improvements.
