Detroit Process Engineer Overview:
The Detroit Process Engineer will develop and improve manufacturing processes for new and current products. The Detroit Process Engineer will work with product development staff to manufacturing prototypes and develop a manufacturing process. The Detroit Process Engineer will also work with quality personnel to ensure that the manufacturing process maximizes the quality of products produced. Regularly analyze and seek to improve the manufacturing processes.

- The Detroit Process Engineer will plan for product launches by developing manufacturing processes for prototypes and for the product launch.
- Work closely with product development personnel to understand the specifics and details of each product.
- Develop cost effective and efficient manufacturing processes.
- The Detroit Process Engineer will periodically analyze and improve manufacturing processes for current products.
- Work with engineers and manufacturing technicians to identify areas were process improvements could be made.
- Lead trainings for all appropriate personnel concerning new and revised manufacturing processes.
- The Detroit Process Engineer will develop manufacturing processes which maximize the safety of all personnel.
- Partner with quality personnel to ensure that the manufacturing processes meet all necessary standards of quality.
- Perform other duties as necessary and directed.
Process Engineer (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree in engineering from an accredited university.
- At least four years of experience in a process engineering role.
- Familiarity with automotive manufacturing environments would be preferred.
- Experience with injection molding processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to effectively communicate with personnel at varying levels of an organization.
- Lean Six Sigma certification would be preferred.
- Excellent problem solving skills, able to perform root cause analyses.
- Able to manage several projects and priorities simultaneously while meeting all necessary check points and deadlines.
- A collaborative personality, able to thrive working with a team as well as independently.
- Able to explain technical concepts to both experts and less experienced technicians.
- A understanding of manufacturing safety principles and best practices.
