Electrical Controls Engineer Job Opening Responsibilities:
- Assume lead technical responsibility for design, development, training, performance, and implementation of new or modified systems requiring integration across multifunctional groups.
- Specify new equipment designs and coordinate fabrication, installation, training, testing, and qualification, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with the EH&S team to ensure adherence to ergonomic and energy control requirements and safety and environmental regulations.
- Utilize engineering analytical skills to identify root cause failures and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and present technical papers to internal and/or external stakeholders.
- Analyze and propose new business opportunities and implement strategic plans.
- Seek and implement continuous improvements to enhance project performance.
- Analyze and resolve electrical, instrumentation, controls, and logic issues on production equipment.
- Lead equipment reliability efforts through the evaluation of component failures and system failure mechanisms.
- Generate or support the creation of accurate drawings and reports to document and communicate designs.
- Create conceptual designs, technical documentation, and budget estimates for bids and proposals.
- Develop and lead the strategy for the controls group.
- Act as the lead controls engineer providing leadership to the controls team.
- Work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment and provide technical leadership on projects.
Electrical Controls Engineer Job Opening Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- 5 – 10 years of electrical maintenance experience.
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLC hardware configuration and PLC programming.
- Experience with AC and DC drives and motors, servo drives, instrumentation, and controls.
- Ability to read, interpret, and update electrical drawings.
- Experience with .NET, Wonderware, and Ignition programming is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to ensure multiple assignments are completed properly and on time.
- Ability to effectively multitask and handle changing work assignments, schedules, and priorities.
