Detroit Plant Manager Overview:
The Detroit Plant Manager will provide leadership and direction for the facility’s day to day activities. The Detroit Plant Manager will oversee such areas as production, scheduling & planning, quality, purchasing, maintenance, inventory control, and safety, as well as other areas. The Detroit Plant Manager will ensure that the facility is adequately staffed in order to meet all demand requirements. The Detroit Plant Manager is responsible for ensuring that all personnel are properly trained and understand the scope of each position.
Detroit Plant Manager Job Opening
- The Detroit Plant Manager will provide direction, supervision, and mentorship to personnel each day.
- Organize and lead regular meetings with management personnel to communicate priorities, objectives, and other important information.
- Monitor key performance indicators and other data to understand where the plant needs to improve efficiency.
- The Detroit Plant Manager will schedule meetings with key stakeholders to investigate manufacturing issues or other problems within the facility.
- Provide management with constructive feedback in order to consistently improve.
- Complete yearly evaluations for direct reports, establish professional goals and work with personnel to ensure they reach goals.
- Provide disciplinary actions and coaching as necessary.
- The Detroit Plant Manager will take part in the hiring process for many positions.

Plant Manager (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree from an accredited institution in the field of business, engineering, or a related area would be preferred; an associate’s degree from an accredited university is a minimum requirement.
- At least ten to fifteen years of automotive manufacturing experience.
- At least five to seven years of manufacturing supervisory experience.
- Familiar with plastic materials.
- Previous experience working for an automotive tier one or two supplier.
- Strong understanding of mathematical concepts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively with personnel at every level of the organization.
