Houston Planning Manager Overview:

The Houston Planning Manager will oversee all planning processes within the facility to ensure that material levels have been maintained across all areas. The Houston Planning Manager will also coach, direct, and assist planners in the department. As a result, he or she must lead the planning team to ensure that the staff develops and thrives on the job. The Planning Manager will analyze KPI’s to calculate the amount of materials needed at any given time. He or She must be comfortable working in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

• The Houston Planning Manager will hold responsibility for all planning within the facility.
• Work with management to develop goals for the planning department, implement strategies to reach those goals.
• The Houston Planning Manager will consistently analyze KPI’s to identify areas of improvement and places where costs could be cut.
• Regularly check planning data to identify areas of improvement. Develop new processes in order to improve planning accuracy.
• Ensure the planning employees are properly trained and maintain their knowledge of the field.
• The Houston Planning manager will take part in the hiring process for new planning staff.

Planning Manager (Houston Area) Job Requirements:

• A four year degree in engineering, supply chain, or a related area from an accredited university.
• At least five years of experience in a management role in a manufacturing environment.
• At least eight years of experience in a supply chain planning role.
• High level of familiarity with SAP and its planning modlules
• Familiar with planning for inventory, production, demand, as well as sales & operations.
• Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills.
• Good communication skills, strong active listening skills, able to relate to other easily.
• Great financial acumen.
