Indianapolis Manufacturing Engineer Overview:
The Manufacturing Engineer will observe and analyze processes within the Indianapolis manufacturing facility. The Manufacturing Engineer will develop new manufacturing processes to maximize efficiency while minimizing costs. The Manufacturing Engineer will plan and execute plans to update equipment. These process improvements will drive improvements in production and lead to improved products.
Indianapolis Manufacturing Engineer Job Opening
- The Manufacturing Engineer will serve as the Indianapolis facility’s subject matter expert on a variety of processes from sheet metal to adhesives and foam.
- Plan, design, implement, and improve manufacturing process.
- The Manufacturing Engineer shall observe and research manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Plan and launch process improvement projects in order to achieve corporate or plant goals.
- When leading projects, the Manufacturing engineer provide updates to all concerned parties within the Indianapolis facility and the external company.
- Research and suggest equipment improvements to improve processes within the Indianapolis facility.
- Identify and establish best practice processes for the operations across production lines.
- The Manufacturing Engineer will train, coach, and develop co-operative intern engineers.
- Perform other appropriate functions as directed by the engineering manager.
Manufacturing Engineer (Indianapolis Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree in engineering would be strongly preferred for the Indianapolis job, other technical degrees or equivalent job experience will be considered.
- A minimum of three years performing an engineering role for a manufacturing company.
- Great project leadership skills, a proven record of successfully guiding projects from planning through implementation.
- Great speaking and presentation skills.
- Great communication skills, written and verbal.
- A team oriented mindset, works well in a cross-functional group.
- Driven and committed to consistently improving.
- Six Sigma training at green or black belt level required, certification preferred.
- Lean manufacturing training is required, certification preferred.
- Strong Project Management skills, PMP certification would be preferred.
- Understanding of D/PFMEA, SPC, GD&T, APQP, PPAP, Gage R+R, Capability Analysis.
- Experience with minitab, MS Visio, and MS project preferred for this job.
