Detroit Manufacturing Engineer Overview:
The Detroit Manufacturing Engineer will plan, design, and launch programs. The Detroit Manufacturing Engineer will develop manufacturing processes in order to improve efficiency, minimize costs, and decrease scrap. In addition to launching new lines, the Manufacturing Engineer will also perform studies on ongoing manufacturing lines to identify areas of improvement. The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with quality engineers and product development staff throughout the development of the manufacturing processes.
Detroit Manufacturing Engineer Job Opening
- The Detroit Manufacturing Engineer will develop, design, and launch manufacturing processes for new programs.
- Partner with program staff to develop cost efficient, safe, effective manufacturing processes with minimal scrap.
- Design process layout, receive input, and refine designs.
- The Detroit Manufacturing Engineer will consistently study and improve manufacturing lines to improve efficiency, safety, and other key metrics.
- Consistently work to decrease scrap in manufacturing processes.
- Assist quality engineers in investigating systematic issues in manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with quality engineers to rectify any problems found in manufacturing systems.
- Gather feedback from technicians to improve ergonomics and safety of the manufacturing process.
- The Detroit Manufacturing Engineer will research and recommend capital equipment purchases.
- Perform other duties and necessary and requested.
Manufacturing Engineer (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or polymer engineering from an accredited university.
- At least five years of experience with blow molding manufacturing.
- Proven history of successful program launches.
- Familiar working with OEM clients.
- Excellent CAD skills.
- Able to read, understand, and explain technical documents, blueprints, manuals, and other materials.
- Able to describe manufacturing processes in writing or in images that are clear and understandable.
- Familiar with computers and Microsoft Windows operating system.
- Comfortable delivering presentations to groups and meetings.
- Familiar with advanced concepts of mechanical engineering.
- Exceptional problem solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A creative personality, able to find unconventional solutions.
- Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, finite element analysis, and multiple factor analysis.
