Los Angeles Machine Shop Manager Overview:
The Los Angeles Machine Shop Manager will preferably have a technical background and some experience with CNC (computerized numerical control) machining and a strong grasp of knowledge with tooling concepts and machining processes. - The Machine Shop Manager will manage the machining department in day-to-day operations.
- Within the machine shop, setting daily priorities for productivity as well as a desired goal for each day.
- The Machine Shop Manager will communicate effectively with the Manufacturing-engineering Department dealing with new product development and new ideas to implement into production.
- The Los Angeles Machine Shop Manager will go over inspection criteria with Quality Assurance department and make sure these criterion are established and being followed.
- Ability to assist in the training of operators/machinists when needed. This will require great multitasking ability.

Machine Shop Manager (Los Angeles Area) Job Requirements:
- Understanding of complex mechanical drawings.
- Able to fully manage and prioritize a high number of set-ups & short-run jobs.
- Develop CNC program retention process set-up sheets for all jobs and manage these sheets.
- Knowledge of metals and machining are great benefits to this position.
- Creativity will be greatly beneficial to this position as it will be needed for preventative maintenance and general upkeep of shop machines.
- Able to develop procedures and processes to improve process flow & development, quality assurance and work order documentation.
- Overall ability to implement process and procedural improvements to help improve every aspect of the machine shop environment.
- No less than 10 years of job experience in the CNC machining industry.
- Preferred: 10 years in the metal fabricating industry but that is just a plus for this job.
- Have a technical degree or something very similar or equivalent to a technical degree.
