Detroit Junior Business Analyst Overview:

The Detroit Junior Business Analyst will create the technical specifications and program systems to support different parts of the business. This position reports to the Information Technology Manager. The Jr. Business Analyst will develop infrastructure as well as take part in general programming related projects. The Junior Business Analyst will create project schedules and work with teams to assign tasks in order to meet project deadlines while following company procedures.

The Detroit Junior Business Analyst will interface with vendors to create proposals for information gathering technology and other systems.
Serve as a liaison to personnel across departments within the company.
Participate in cost justification studies.
The Detroit Junior Business Analyst will plan, organize, and lead user training as necessary.
Create documentation to assist users.
Create operational instructions to assist users.
The Detroit Junior Business Analyst will develop application requirements to meet user needs.
Understand business processes and replicate the process as necessary within a system or program.
Take part in troubleshooting for application errors and issues.
The Detroit Junior business Analyst will apply solutions to current applications.
Develop mitigation paths as well as different approaches to new systems.

Junior Business Analyst (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field.
6 years of IT experience
Understanding of a wide variety of programming languages, especially Progress 4GL language.
Experience with the full cycle of system and program development as well as project coordination/planning, design, development, and implementation.
Familiarity with EDI and its applications for business.
Experience working with barcode systems.
Able to explain IT concepts and jargon to personnel.
Able to grasp business issues and suggest IT solutions that could mitigate those issues.
Willingness and drive to maintain business and technical knowledge with continuous learning and training.
Strong communication skills.
