Description:
The main function of this position is to development the company’s business pipeline in the automation, aerospace, robotics, and automotive industries and advance the promotion of new products and services offered by the company. This position will need to be able to build a book of business with new customer contacts and strengthening the the breadth of services offered by the company. The Account Manager will also need to be able maintain and enhance current business relationships with company clients.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Main responsibility is to create new business opportunities and uphold the current business relationships that the company has already established
- Provide technical expertise and sales support for targeted customers in North America.
- Analyze customer needs, drawings, and specifications in order to develop a solution-based sale
- Work with engineering, development, and design teams to develop the sales solution for the customer
- Create sales strategies in order to accomplish sales and marketing objectives
- Develop a profile of preferred traits and requirements of potential clients and keep track of sales wins and losses in the company’s database
- Broaden customer database and forecast potential opportunities
- Attend trade shows at local organizations to enhance customer network and relationships
Base Qualifications:
- Experience involving manufacturing-based automation services sales is essential
- Bachelor’s/Associate’s degrees are both plusses, but not required
- In-depth knowledge of various manufacturing practices
- Knowledge of specifications and requirements of automation services
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years of engineering and technical sales experience in the manufacturing industry
Skills Needed:
- Desire to hunt new business and build a larger book of business for the company
- Adept speaking skills to communicate cogently and creatively in order to facilitate the sales process
- Ability to meet and execute sales objectives
- Time management skills are essential
- Creativity and design experience are also big plusses
- Forward-thinking and desire to continuously improve sales and business acumen
