Atlanta Director of Operations Overview:
The Atlanta Director of Operations will oversee several departments within the division. The Atlanta Director of Operations will be responsible for manufacturing, purchasing, project management, accounting, and costing. The Director of Operations will develop a strategy to ensure these departments remain successful and continuously improve. The Atlanta Director of Operations will report to the Divisional General Manager.
Atlanta Director of Operations Job Opening:
- The Atlanta Director of Operations will provide department managers with direction and goals each day.
- Partner closely with Technical Services and Engineering personnel.
- Ensure that departments are supporting each others’ efforts. For major projects, manufacturing project management, and purchasing will need to be aligned.
- The Atlanta Director of Operations will assign accounting personnel to develop a costing procedure for custom projects.
- Plan for automation implementation and process improvement projects. Develop goals and benchmarks for projects.
- Choose the layout of the plant to optimize productivity and safety.
- The Atlanta Director of Operations will consistently evaluate processes in order to reduce costs in the plant, drive quality improvements, prioritize safety, and increase the efficiency of production.
- Partner with senior leaders and executives to achieve company objectives. Develop strategies and benchmarks in order to meet goals annually and quarterly.
Director of Operations (Atlanta Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree in industrial or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
- At least ten to fifteen years of operations or engineering management experience.
- Familiarity with cost accounting is preferable.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Comfortable in a dynamic environment, able to adapt to changes.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and analysis skills.
- Proven history of leading successful continuous improvement initiatives from planning and through implementation.
- Familiar with manufacturing best practices and processes.
- A proven ability to develop strong business relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to manage finances, strong P&L skills.
- A collaborative mindset, consistently soliciting feedback from colleagues.
- Excellent decision making skills, able to deliberate and act quickly with strong judgement.
