Detroit Die Cast Engineer Overview:
The Die Cast Engineer will evaluate, plan, and develop processes for all die cast related manufacturing at the Detroit site, and will assist in designing general manufacturing processes within the Detroit, Michigan facility. The Die Cast Engineers will work with manufacturing and other plant staff in studying and improving the manufacturing process at the plant in Detroit.
Detroit Die Cast Process Engineer Job Opening
- Evaluate all current die casting and related manufacturing processes. Make suggestions for improvements.
- The Die Cast Engineer will plan, execute, and evaluate studies of new and current manufacturing processes. Work with appropriate plant personnel throughout the process for input and insight.
- The Die Cast Engineer will train manufacturing staff members to work in the new manufacturing process. Ensure they understand improvements and how they relate to cost/quality of the product.
- Perform root cause failure analysis on processes when issues arise.
- The Die Cast Engineer will develop a set of procedures, instructions, and guidelines regarding the foundry set up. Train all appropriate staff in proper foundry procedure.
- Take part in Kaizen events and planning. Makes suggestions for new technologies or processes that could be implemented.
- The Die Cast Engineer will develop and upkeep die operation sheets. Document and maintain the files for the operation sheets.
- The Die Cast Engineer will participate and make suggestions in the development and implementation of safety trainings.
- Participate in the production planning processes of new product development.
- Work with appropriate personnel to manufacture prototypes.
- Once prototypes have been approved, develop and launch the mass manufacturing process.
- Oversee all automated process. Program and edit CNCs and PLCs. Train operators on their machines.
- The Die Cast Engineer will perform other tasks as required by Manufacturing Manager at the Detroit, Michigan site.
Die Cast Process Engineer (Detroit Area) Die Cast Job Requirements:
- A four year degree in a field related to manufacturing from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 2-3 years working with die casting, assembly, stamping, and other machining would be preferable for this job.
- Job experience working in a facility which has a high level of output and automated processes.
- Good with computers, able to use Windows operating systems and Microsoft office.
