Detroit Controls Technician Overview:
The Detroit Controls Technician will perform regular and preventative maintenance according to schedules set by maintenance manager. The Controls Technician will work to ensure that plc equipment is operating and properly maintained during each shift. The Detroit Controls Technician will also participate in continuous improvement projects to provide input.
Detroit Controls Technician Job Opening:
- The Detroit Controls Technician will perform electrical maintenance on equipment within the facility.
- Troubleshoot and correct electrical errors.
- Perform PLC programming to ensure equipment is functioning appropriately.
- The Detroit Controls Technician will ensure that preventative maintenance schedules are followed.
- Work with quality and engineering staff to evaluate the manufacturing processes and identify areas where quality or efficiency improvements could be made.
- Participate in lean and continuous improvement events within the facility.
- The Detroit Controls Technician will keep track of common maintenance issues and relay relevant information to maintenance management.
- Maintain and build upon technical knowledge consistently.

Controls Technician (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- A vocational degree, or a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 4 years of electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, able to write and keep record of maintenance reports.
- Strong familiarity with PLC programming.
- Able to follow a schedule and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize tasks to ensure projects are completed efficiently.
- Excellent understanding of wiring in industrial equipment.
