Detroit Buyer Overview:
This Detroit Buyer job requires regular collaboration with production supervisor(s) to ensure timely delivery of materials needed to meet customer demands towards quality and delivery. This Buyer job will report directly to the President regarding daily job of materials purchasing, in order to ensure optimal price, delivery, and vendor negotiated terms. Furthermore, the Buyer job in Detroit requires analyzing and evaluating vendor bids to determine optimal value; a demonstrated experience selecting supplies, issuing purchase orders, and following up with and evaluating vendors.

- Material, parts, supplies, and equipment purchasing experience is required for this job.
- This Buyer job will be working closely with interdepartmental peers, especially the Production Supervisor, while ultimately reporting to the President.
- Adept at reading blueprints and understanding the necessary materials for production.
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to network and build rapport with vendors and suppliers is an integral part of this job.
- Bill of Material (BOM) knowledge is essential.
Buyer (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Five (5) years of purchasing/buying experience with a metal manufacturer and/or OEM component manufacturer.
- Ability to read blueprints and procure necessary materials for manufacture.
- Demonstrated daily skill preparing and analyzing complex technical drawings and specifications, especially MS and NAS specifications.
- Familiarity with Bill of Materials (BOM) structure.
- A collaborative spirit and team mindset, ability to work closely with interdepartmental peers and subordinates.
