Boston Buyer Overview:

The Buyer will be responsible for MRO/indirect purchasing. The buyer will utilize various systems to ensure efficiency and consistent on-time delivery of ordered goods. Additionally, the buyer will process and expedite purchase orders as necessary. This position entails extensive client relationship building in effort to generate and maintain business opportunities. Expectations of this position include an emphasis on quality and process improvement and the utilization of effective problem-solving to address issues in a timely manner.

Boston Buyer Job Opening

• Buyer Boston, Massachusetts will utilize SOS 2001 inventory management software and CMMS purchasing system to generate and maintain purchase orders.
• This job fulfills responsibilities and reports as required.
• Buyer Boston, Massachusetts will compare potential business development opportunities with new suppliers and distributors to accomplish cost saving objectives.
• This job extends cost saving objectives through the identification of commercialization opportunities.
• Buyer Boston will establish a strong link of communication between the supervisor and client to ensure timely delivery of ordered/expected items.
• This position collaborates with the Site Manager to drive quality and process improvements.
• Buyer Boston will attend mandatory Safety and Security trainings and adhere to all applicable procedures and regulations.

Buyer (Boston Area) Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred for this position.
• This job requires previous MRO/indirect materials purchasing experience.
• Must possess a working knowledge of MRO materials.
• CPM/APICS is desirable for this job.
• This position requires a proven track record of sourcing initiatives.
• This job requires computer proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to learn additional software or systems.
• This job consists of frequent standing and walking.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required for this job.
• Must be able to work under varying levels of supervision.
