Chicago Assistant Plant Manager Overview:
The Assistant Plant Manager will assist the Plant Manager in overseeing the day-to-day and overall operations of the Chicago Plant. The Assistant Plant Manager will provide direction to production supervision and other personnel. The Assistant Plant Manager will ensure that new policies and practices and implemented in the facility to achieve company goals and objectives. The assistant plant manager will also take part in the administrative tasks of plant management.

- The Chicago Assistant Plant Manager will provide support to the Plant Manager in a wide variety of areas and shall interface with managers and supervisors across departments from production, maintenance, quality, safety, and administration.
- Provide direction to managers and supervisors on now procedures and processes to achieve company goals and objectives.
- Develop and lead training sessions for staff members to ensure processes and procedures are properly understood.
- The Chicago Assistant Plant Manager will take part in the hiring and on boarding process of new personnel as well as the yearly evaluation processes for staff.
- Take part in determining corrective actions for personnel.
Assistant Plant Manager (Chicago Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree from an accredited university, preferably in business or a related field.
- At least five years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with consumer home goods manufacturing is a plus.
- At least three years of management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of manufacturing quality standards and audits.
- Great communication skills, both written and verbal, with personnel at varying levels of an organization.
- Familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite of products such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Able to learn software quickly.
- Excellent reasoning and problem solving skills, able to gather information, determine facts, and draw conclusions.
- A proven leader that is comfortable working in a team.
