Detroit Director of Operations Overview:
The Detroit Director of Operations will oversee all operations of the testing lab, and will seek to improve the functions of the lab through implementing and improving systems. The Detroit Director of Operations shall utilize a proven history of technical expertise in order to solve problems and make improvements to the lab. This role shall also have responsibility for the Quality Systems and implementing improvements.
Detroit Director of Operations Job Opening:
- The Detroit Director of Operations will oversee the daily operations of the lab.
- Set direction for research projects to develop new methods based on client needs.
- Oversee the quality control programs for the facility, making improvements as necessary.
- The Detroit Director of Operations will develop new assessments and benchmarks.
- Hold complete P&L responsibility for the operations, overseeing the budget and ensuring positive financial operation.
- Perform actions to improve the profitability of the business unit.
Director of Operations (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- Possession of a Masters level education in a life science or biological discipline is required.
- Possession of a PhD in a life science or biological discipline is preferred.
- At least ten years of experience working in a large scale lab.
- Deeply familiar with occupational safety and industrial hygiene industries.
- A progressive career path with at least three years of experience leading an industrial operation.
- A high level of motivation and enthusiasm.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to build consensus, persuade others, and motivate a team.
- Past experience overseeing a budget and improving the financial performance of an operation.
- Proven history of successful lean implementations.
