Ann Arbor Materials Manager Overview:

The principal responsibility of the Materials Manager will be to supervise and direct all operations in relation to order tracking and materials purchasing. The Materials Manager will also work cross-functionally with managers from different departments such as engineering and production to ensure product orders being processed efficiently and comply with customer requirements. Additionally, he or she will identify solutions to improve the effectiveness of processing procedures and methodologies. An additional job for the Materials Manager will be developing a departmental budget and implementing cost effective initiatives. The Materials Manager will report directly to a Plant Manager and confer with executive management to provide accurate departmental feedback.

• The Ann Arbor Materials Manager’s primary job will include monitoring and guiding the all functions related to the order logistics and raw materials procurement.
• For this job, the Ann Arbor Materials Manager will be responsible for engineering and implementing solutions to drive productivity and improve efficiency levels of the department’s processing procedures.
• In addition, he or she will be tasked with imposing a budget on the department as well as implementing solutions to reduce freight incidences.
• The Materials Manager will collaborate closely with team members and managers from the engineering and production departments to monitor and ensure the successful processing of customer orders.
• There are minimal travel requirements outside of Ann Arbor, Michigan for this job.
• The Ann Arbor Materials Manager will accept any additional duties when needed. 

Materials Manager (Ann Arbor Area) Job Requirements:

• A four-year degree in a logistics or business-related discipline.
• At least five years of experience in a relevant industry, preferably in a management role.
• Inventory Control and Production certifications are a plus for this job.
• Must be organized and detail-oriented.
• Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
