Serve as the voice of human resources in management discussions.
Manage the human resource department, oversee payroll to ensure everything is done on schedule.
Lead problem solving projects within the human resources department.
Oversee the staffing process, ensure that recruiting, sourcing, interviewing, and offers are performed in accordance with guidelines and best practices.
Create and improve the employee onboarding process.
Keep regular with wage raters so compensation is competitive and attractive to current and prospective employees.

Human Resources Director (Grand Rapids Area) Job Requirements:

A four year degree, preferably in human resources or a related field, from a four year institution.
Master’s in Human Resources preferred.
SPHR certification preferred.
A minimum of five years of supervisory experience.
A minimum of five years of experience in a union facility.
Experience managing payroll and benefits, ADP experience preferred for this job.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Good with Microsoft office as well as other software.
Proven project management experience.
