The Human Resources Director will create in enact processes and initiatives to improve the company through proper utilization of talent. - Serve as the voice of human resources in management discussions.
- Manage the human resource department, oversee payroll to ensure everything is done on schedule.
- Lead problem solving projects within the human resources department.
- Oversee the staffing process, ensure that recruiting, sourcing, interviewing, and offers are performed in accordance with guidelines and best practices.
- Create and improve the employee onboarding process.
- Keep regular with wage raters so compensation is competitive and attractive to current and prospective employees.
- Research and suggest other compensation incentives that are common in the industry.
- Develop and enact policies which support the goals and objectives of the company.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and trust within the department and the company at large.
- Keep track of turnover and absenteeism metrics to understand employee attitudes.
- Create and improve employee wellness plans.
- Develop and improve the performance management systems in order to reach company objectives.
- Improve and refine the training processes to improve the excellence of company employees.
- Ensure that company activities are in line with all internal and external regulations.
Human Resources Director (Grand Rapids Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree, preferably in human resources or a related field, from a four year institution.
- Master’s in Human Resources preferred.
- SPHR certification preferred.
- A minimum of five years of supervisory experience.
- A minimum of five years of experience in a union facility.
- Experience managing payroll and benefits, ADP experience preferred for this job.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Good with Microsoft office as well as other software.
- Proven project management experience.
