The Manufacturing Engineer shall serve as part of the manufacturing operations staff in Detroit, Michigan. The Manufacturing Engineer will use customer prints to develop operational plans for Detroit manufacturing operations to execute.

- Analyze and interpret customer specifications for products and develop the ideal manufacturing process to create the product efficiently while meeting all quality standards for this job.
- The Packaging Engineer must maintain and improve manufacturing processes, keeping record of all process changes, finding areas to improve.
- Create and improve time standards for each manufacturing process at the Detroit, Michigan plant.
- The Manufacturing Engineer must identify and rectify problems as they arise on the shop floor. Organize and enact process improvements to improve cost-saving and cycle times.
- Serve as a team member on several manufacturing jobs at any given time. The Manufacturing Engineer must collaborate with other departments when engineering support is needed at the Detroit, Michigan plant.
- Keep a database of all processes and the produced components, ensuring that all specifications, changes, and other pertinent details are recorded for reference and to provide customers or end users.
- Training manufacturing operations staff members with new processes.
- Collaborate with other engineers and manufacturing personnel to identify areas for improvement at the Detroit, Michigan plant.
- Utilize CAD to design manufacturing processes in the Detroit, Michigan plant.
- Collaborate with quality assurance personnel to rectify any manufacturing errors that arise from the process.
- Communicate with customers when to understand particular specifications and other issues, as necessary.
- Maintain and improve professional technical knowledge while on the job.
Manufacturing Engineer (Detroit Area)Job Requirements:
- This job requires four-year degree, engineering is strongly preferred, but a related degree and/or several years of experience will be considered.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
- Comfortable working in cross-functional teams on separate projects simultaneously.
- The Manufacturing Engineer must have several years of manufacturing experience.
- Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, as well as tolerance stack-ups, would be preferable.
- A creative and innovative mindset when developing processes.
- The Manufacturing Engineer must have positive attitude and open-minded personality, welcoming to others’ advice and insight.
- Good communication skills, written and verbal.
- Experience utilizing CAD software, experience with autoCAD and Inventor would be preferable.
- Great computer skills.
