Saginaw Materials Manager Overview:

The Materials Manager is mainly responsible for helping to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the company’s Saginaw plant. For this job, he or she will be a champion for lean manufacturing processes within the company and will be tasked with identifying and eliminating wasteful manufacturing practices. The Materials Manager will report directly to the Saginaw plant’s Operations Manager and will also be overseeing and monitoring the performance of a Material Control Coordinator, as well as some of the shipping and receiving staff at the Saginaw, Michigan site.

Saginaw Materials Manager Job Opening 

• The Materials Manager will help integrate, promote, and champion waste-reducing lean manufacturing principles and methods in the Saginaw, Michigan plant.
• For this job, the position will take a leading role in various Elimination of Waste meetings.
• The role will be supporting the long and short term goals of the company.
• The Materials Manager will create manufacturing metrics and production goals in order to drive improvement throughout the materials process.
• The role must keep cost reduction and production expediency in mind when working.
• The position will head up material control functions out the Saginaw, Michigan plant.
• The Materials Manager will create a training plan for his or her direct reports.
• The job will utilize SAP to help facilitate plant maintenance and production planning.
• The position will help support the supply chain’s performance out of the Saginaw site.
• There is no travel outside of Saginaw, Michigan for this position.
• The Materials Manager will complete any additional or special projects as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Materials Manager (Saginaw Area) Job Requirements:

• A dearth of inventory and production planning knowledge.
• A high degree of lean manufacturing knowledge with demonstrated experience of utilizing waste-reducing manufacturing practices.
• Experience working in a fast-paced automotive environment is a huge plus for this job.
• A bachelor’s degree is a plus for this job.
