Description:
The Quality Assurance Manager is charged with upholding the company’s Quality Management System (QMS). This will entail keeping an eye on coworkers and production methods in order to make sure that the customer is fully satisfied. The Quality Manager will collaborate with other managers and teams in order to optimize productivity across all facets of the company. This position is ultimately responsible for the success and failure of the company’s Quality Management System.
Principle Responsibilities:
- The Quality Manager needs to be able to lead and formalize the standards of production for manufacturing processes and structure
- This position will also need to be able to develop quality management plans, programs, procedures, and rules in order to make sure that company products will meet certain standards of quality and reliability
- The Quality Assurance Manager will need to help initiate and upkeep So/TS 16949
- When items and products are not up to quality standards, the QM will need to correct problems and prevent future shortcomings of the products
- This position will need to meet with both clients and suppliers to make sure that quality requirements are met
- Management experience is essential, as the Quality Manager will need to manage and group teams, supervisors, and surveyors
- This position will need to communicate with other teams to make sure that quality standards are met and being followed
- The Quality Manager must have a continuous desire and ability to better the quality system
Abilities required:
- The position requires at least five years as an acting quality assurance manager in a manufacturing setting
- The quality assurance manager will need a great attention to detail
- The position requires continuous improvement skills, especially when it comes to continuously improving the quality department
- The quality manager will need at least three years experience utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles
- The quality assurance manager needs to be technically-minded, someone who will be able to comprehend manufacturing blueprints and directions
- ISO/TS auditing experience in a plant environment is essential
- Experience with So/TS 16949
- Knowledge of various quality planning tools
- Strong attendance record
- Avid written and verbal communication skills
Educational Requirements:
- 4-year Bachelor Degree
- Quality Certifications
- Electronic Technical Certification or an equivalent experience
Skills and Specifications
◦ Minimum 5 years as a quality manager in a manufacturing environment
