Overview:
This job will manage every facet of daily operations (including both products and people), ensuring safety, quality, and regulation of company manufacturing output at the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania manufacturing site. The Director of Operations will need to be able to work well in a team in order to uphold customer satisfaction and manufacturing personnel morale.

- The Director of Operations will meet the Philadelphia department’s labor, scrap, and productivity goals and objectives.
- Keep track of budget expenses in order to sustain ongoing volumes of business.
- The Director of Operations will use available resources in order to plan production and analyze new projects/products and allow for proper tools, equipment, and manpower required to accomplish Company objectives and goals.
- Manage preparation of alternative business plans and analyze decisions that affect customers, the plant, and operations.
- The Director of Operations will plan activities and alter priorities in order to meet commitments for new product budgets, customer specifications, and regulations set in place by the government.
- Direct and streamline machine and building repair, material supply, and correct problems hat set back operations.
- The Director of Operations will hold meetings with team to effectively communicate ideas involving priorities, workplace efficiency involving personnel and products, expenditures, and how they impact project schedules.
- Comply with regulatory and industry standards, safety standards, and company policy.
- Facilitate a positive environment that invites interpersonal communication and teamwork.
- The Director of Operations will prepare subordinates for growth and more responsibilities through training and difficulty in assignments and also have an important role in their progression and growth within the company.
- Manage the manufacturing engineers in ways that are to encourage optimal performance and products that are in accordance with company standards
- The Director of Operations will manage and direct the supervisors.
- Help employees better their performance, attendance, and other employee issues.
- The Director of Operations will work with materials managers, the quality team, customer service, and the engineers to ensure that manufacturing, quality, and productivity goals are met.

Director of Operations (Philadelphia Area) Job Requirements:
- Over 5 years of manufacturing job experience.
- Bachelor degree in a pertinent field or equivalent expertise.
- Great communication skills (written and verbal) are essential, especially when conducting reports and presentations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects using critical thinking, industry experience, and resources that the company provides.
- Knowledge of federal regulations, such as the Federal Railroad Administration, ADA, Buy America, and APTA.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
- Knowledge of computer software (MS office suite) as well as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
