We are seeking an experienced and capable General Foreman to oversee field operations, coordinate multiple crews, maintain productivity and safety standards, and ensure work is completed efficiently and according to project requirements. This role requires strong leadership, field knowledge, organization, and the ability to coordinate teams and resources in a fast-paced environment.
Position Responsibilities
Field Operations
- Oversee daily field operations and coordinate work activities across multiple crews.
- Assign responsibilities, monitor progress, and ensure work is completed according to schedules and specifications.
- Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and other resources needed for daily operations.
Crew Leadership
- Supervise and provide direction to foremen, crew members, and field personnel.
- Monitor productivity and provide coaching, training, and performance guidance.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and effective communication across crews.
Safety & Quality
- Enforce established safety procedures and applicable regulations.
- Monitor jobsites for potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Maintain quality standards and verify that work meets project specifications.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Communicate project updates, staffing requirements, material needs, and potential delays.
- Identify and resolve field issues to support project schedules and successful completion.
Prerequisites
- Previous experience as a General Foreman, Foreman, Superintendent, or similar field leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of field operations and project execution.
- Demonstrated experience supervising multiple crews or teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and work instructions.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- OSHA certification.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Trade-specific licenses or certifications.
- Construction management or supervisory certifications.
- Lean or continuous improvement certifications.
