We are seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier quality initiatives that ensure materials, components, and products consistently meet quality, regulatory, and performance standards. This role partners closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, resolve quality issues, and strengthen supplier performance across the supply chain. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience managing supplier quality in a manufacturing environment.
Position Responsibilities
Supplier Quality Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain supplier quality programs and performance metrics.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities to ensure compliance with quality and manufacturing standards.
- Build strong supplier relationships to drive continuous quality improvements.
Supplier Audits & Assessments
- Plan and conduct supplier audits, process assessments, and qualification activities.
- Verify supplier compliance with quality systems, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor supplier corrective actions and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
Quality Improvement
- Investigate supplier-related quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities to eliminate recurring issues.
- Analyze supplier performance data and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Product & Process Support
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Operations during new product introductions and supplier transitions.
- Support qualification of new suppliers, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Ensure supplier quality requirements are incorporated into product development activities.
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain supplier quality documentation and inspection records.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, customer requirements, and internal quality procedures.
- Prepare reports and present supplier performance metrics to leadership.
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
- Several years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing Quality.
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, supplier audits, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and statistical problem-solving techniques.
- Excellent communication, project management, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to travel as needed to support supplier audits and business requirements.
- Ability to work onsite when not traveling for business.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- ASQ Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP)
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Certification
- Certified Lead Auditor
