We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Vice President of Warehousing, Transportation, and Logistics to lead the development and execution of a world-class logistics organization. This executive leader will oversee the end-to-end movement of materials, inventory, and products across the enterprise while building scalable operational capabilities that support continued growth. The ideal candidate combines executive leadership with a highly engaged operational approach, driving excellence in warehousing, transportation, distribution, manufacturing support, and logistics network optimization.

Position Responsibilities

Warehousing Operations Leadership

Lead all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, fulfillment, staging, and distribution.
Develop scalable warehouse strategies that support organizational growth and operational demands.
Drive improvements in inventory accuracy, productivity, safety, and operational efficiency.
Standardize processes, metrics, and best practices across multiple warehouse locations.

Transportation & Logistics Management

Develop and execute enterprise-wide transportation and logistics strategies.
Oversee inbound freight, outbound distribution, fleet coordination, and third-party logistics providers.
Improve transportation performance, service reliability, and cost efficiency.
Ensure timely and accurate material movement throughout the supply chain.

Manufacturing & Operational Support

Support production and operational teams through effective material planning and availability.
Lead project kitting, staging, and material readiness initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to eliminate bottlenecks and improve workflow.
Ensure operational support aligns with production schedules and customer commitments.

Logistics Network Transformation

Design and implement a modern, integrated logistics and distribution network.
Develop multi-year roadmaps for warehouse expansion, transportation optimization, and infrastructure growth.
Evaluate and implement automation technologies, advanced material handling systems, and digital logistics solutions.
Establish centralized logistics visibility and control systems for end-to-end supply chain management.

Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence

Champion Lean, Toyota Production System (TPS), Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve throughput, and increase capacity.
Implement KPI-driven performance management and visual management systems.
Benchmark operations against industry-leading logistics and distribution organizations.

Leadership & Talent Development

Build, mentor, and develop high-performing logistics and operations teams.
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, innovation, and customer focus.
Develop succession plans and strengthen leadership capabilities across the organization.
Partner closely with executive leadership to support long-term strategic objectives.

Prerequisites

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in warehousing, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, distribution, or industrial operations.
Proven experience leading large-scale, multi-site operational organizations.
Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), ERP platforms, and inventory management practices.
Experience driving operational transformation, process improvement, and organizational change.
Demonstrated success in logistics network design, warehouse optimization, and transportation strategy.
Strong financial acumen, analytical skills, and strategic planning capabilities.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)

Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD)
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt
Project Management Professional (PMP)
APICS Certifications
Certified Transportation Professional (CTP)
