We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tool Maker to join a growing manufacturing organization. This role is responsible for designing, building, repairing, and maintaining precision tooling, fixtures, dies, and production components that support efficient manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate combines strong machining expertise with CNC programming knowledge and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Position Responsibilities
CNC Programming & Machining
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis machining operations.
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines and lathes to produce precision components.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and improve cycle times and production efficiency.
- Ensure finished products meet quality and dimensional requirements.
Tooling Design & Fabrication
- Design, fabricate, modify, and repair precision tools, dies, fixtures, and related manufacturing equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop tooling solutions that support operational goals.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to create accurate tooling.
Production Support
- Create and maintain work instructions for manufacturing processes.
- Assist with new product introductions and tooling implementation.
- Support production teams by resolving tooling and machining-related challenges.
Quality Assurance
- Utilize precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy.
- Apply GD&T principles to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
- Conduct inspections and maintain documentation related to tooling performance and quality standards.
Equipment Maintenance & Workplace Organization
- Perform routine maintenance on machining equipment and tooling.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Prerequisites
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent technical training.
- Proven experience as a Tool Maker, Machinist, CNC Programmer, or similar manufacturing professional.
- Strong proficiency in CNC machining and programming.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software and technical drawing interpretation.
- Knowledge of precision measuring instruments and machining best practices.
- Familiarity with machining stainless steel and other industrial materials.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
