Our client is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer III with expertise in air emission control systems to support the development and implementation of environmentally responsible processes in a high-tech manufacturing environment. This newly created position will play a key role in designing systems that manage and reduce solvent emissions, ensuring compliance and sustainability as the company transitions toward more “wet” processes involving higher volumes of solvents and contaminants. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in system design, not just compliance, and come from industries such as chemical films, liquid crystal display manufacturing, or advanced materials—where solvent management is a core part of operations.
Position Responsibilities
- Design, evaluate, and implement air emission control systems for manufacturing processes involving solvents
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure new processes meet environmental and regulatory standards
- Work closely with R&D, Process Engineering, and Facilities to integrate emission control systems into new and existing lines
- Lead troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts related to solvent capture technologies
- Identify and specify equipment to capture and manage emissions before they are released into the atmosphere
- Support the company’s pivot toward wet processing methods, with a focus on sustainability and environmental stewardship
Prerequisites
- Strong experience in system or equipment design related to air emission control
- Background in industries dealing with solvents and chemical film processes (e.g., 3M, LG, Samsung, LCD or semiconductor manufacturing)
- Knowledge of solvent recovery systems, abatement, or scrubber technologies
- Hands-on engineering mindset with ability to implement solutions, not just assess compliance
- Ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams and influence environmental design in new processes
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Familiarity with environmental engineering systems, VOC capture technologies, or cleanroom protocols is a plus
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- Advanced degrees or certifications in Environmental Engineering or Process Design are advantageous
What the Role Offers
- A pivotal role in supporting the shift to cleaner, more sustainable manufacturing practices
- Opportunity to lead technical design efforts in air quality and emission control
- Work at the forefront of advanced material manufacturing with a strong environmental mission
- Visibility across engineering, EHS, and operations teams in a highly collaborative culture
- Competitive compensation: $110,000 – $125,000 base salary, plus 10% annual bonus potential
- Strong benefits package and long-term career growth opportunities in a global organization
