Our client is seeking a highly qualified Quality Manager II to join their plant leadership team at their manufacturing facility in Sayre, Pennsylvania. As a Quality Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring food quality, safety, and production efficiencies.
Your primary responsibility will be to create a healthy work environment for the company’s employees, fostering positive relationships and teamwork. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will collaborate with other department managers and senior leadership to drive quality initiatives.
Quality Manager Job Responsibilities:
- Lead Production Management in troubleshooting plant quality execution deficiencies.
- Work with technical resources (Technical Services, Quality Assurance, R&D, and Product Development) and plant management to identify root causes and eliminate recurring quality problems.
- Supervise the department to ensure consistent production of high-quality products that meet or exceed customer and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with quality specifications, financial efficiencies, and department safety targets.
- Drive and execute safety standards, promoting accountability within the department.
- Lead and support plant audit programs to ensure compliance with plant SOPs.
- Take a leadership role in people development processes, including employee training, performance recognition, and technical/functional training.
- Design and facilitate training programs for new team members, focusing on food safety, personal safety, GMPs, SQF requirements, CCPs, and sanitation requirements.
Quality Manager Job Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Five (5) years of quality control experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Four (4) years of progressive leadership experience, preferably at the Manager level.
Quality Manager Job Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (SQF, BRC, ISO, etc.).
- Extensive knowledge of quality methods and techniques, including HACCP, quality assurance standards, food laboratory testing methods and operations, and statistical process control techniques.
- Experience in dairy/cheese manufacturing is a plus.
